An Analytical Study of the Islamic System of Education and Training in the light of Tafsīr al-Kabīr

ABSTRACT:

The main purpose of education and interpretation is to enlighten mankind with high moral values. First Qur’ānic revelation indicates the comprehensive interpretation of the knowledge to study the universe. While Prophet (PBUH) declared that acquiring knowledge is essential for every Muslim (male and female). Imām al-Rāzī the most famous Muslim scholar of the sixth century was blessed with huge knowledge about languages, interpretation, Hadīth, and philosophy as well as scientific aspects. This research aims to study the opinions of Imām al-Rāzī about Islamic Educational system presented in his famous exegesis “Mafātīḥ al-Ghayb” which consists of thirty-two (32) volumes. Employing analytical Method, this paper focused on the study of Qur’ānic verses related knowledge, education, and moral values what have been stated in the commentary of ImāmFakhruddīn al-Rāzī. It has been concluded that al-Rāzī provided the comprehensive and all-inclusive system for fundamental nourishment, training, and the methodology to acquire knowledge based upon firmament foundations having practical impacts. His way of action concerning education for our nation may provide solutions concerning various problems and issues in the current context. He wants to exercise the educational system based upon equality along with the ethical development of the nation within the domain of the Islamic philosophy of education and epistemological considerations.
