Abstract:

The weak, oppressed and helpless group of people who needs the help of others or are unable to live freely being a substitute under infidel government is called Mustaz’afeen in Islamic terms. When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) pronounced Islam, his (PBUH) followers were only weak people of society. These people were persecuted in diverse ways because of accepting Islam. We can call these weak people Mustaz’afeen in Islamic terminology. The holy Prophet (PBUH) took every step to make them happy. He (PBUH) gave them respect, consolation and help that could be possible at that time. In this article, the term of Mustaz’if is defined and what meanings are given in the Quran for this word and what steps holy prophet (PBUH) took for their consolation are highlighted. And in the end, steps are discussed for the help of these Mustaz’afeen in the contemporary era.
